A real jiu-jitsu school, not a fitness fad. Every class is technical, live, and led by people who compete at the highest level.
TM BJJ Academy is built around one idea: give Orange County a place to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu the right way. Clean mats, a structured curriculum, and coaches who still step on the competition floor themselves.
Whether you have never trained a day in your life or you are chasing a podium, you get the same thing here. Real technique, honest rolls, and a room that pushes you and looks out for you.
Born in Manaus, Amazonas, Thyago built his game the hard way and carried it to the top of the sport. Today he brings that same standard to every class, from the first-timer learning to fall to the pro fighter sharpening for a title.
He has cornered and prepared athletes competing in the UFC and PFL, and he coaches with the belief that great jiu-jitsu should be shared, not gatekept.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has increasingly become part of the conversation among executives and senior leaders, and not by coincidence.
In high-performance environments defined by constant accountability, rapid decision-making, and complex stakeholder management, finding structured ways to develop focus, resilience, and execution discipline is critical.
As a practitioner for over 20 years, black belt, competitor, and engineer, I’ve observed that Jiu-Jitsu operates as a practical framework for leadership development. The skills reinforced on the mat translate directly into business environments, including:
One of the most valuable aspects of Jiu-Jitsu is its merit-based structure. Titles, hierarchy, and seniority offer no advantage. Progress is earned through repetition, adaptability, and continuous improvement. Feedback is immediate and objective.
These are the same principles that drive performance on the mat, and the same ones I rely on daily when operating in complex, high-stakes real estate environments.
Strong leadership, much like Jiu-Jitsu, is built through discipline, execution, and consistency.

You learn from a champion who still competes and still teaches every week, not a franchise script.
Clear progressions from your first day to your black belt, so you always know what to work on next.
A jiu-jitsu school you actually want to train in. Sanitized daily, no egos at the door, everyone helps everyone.
Programs for kids from age 3, teens, women, and adults. Train together, grow together.
Walked in never having trained. Six months later it is the best decision I have made for my body and my head. The coaching is next level.
My son is more confident, focused, and respectful since starting the kids program. The instructors genuinely care about the kids.
Professor Thyago's detail is unreal. If you want real jiu-jitsu from someone who competes at the top, this is the room.
